Memorial Service
The
camp had it's first Memorial Day Service in 2003. It was
a special event in which we set the record straight for Calvin
Chesley Moody. His family had been told that he deserted
the Confederate Army and had been hung, but in reality, he had
been a prisoner of war and had died in prison. The camp
dedicated a monument in the burial place of the rest of his family.
So it was a special time for the camp as well as the Moody
family who were in attendance.
